Not all feather earrings are created equal. Yes, you can find feather earrings that cost less at other places, but you will get what you pay for. Here are 5 great reasons to buy Arte Designs Feather Earrings:
1. No birds are harmed. After a great deal of research, I finally found a supplier that supports the ethical treatment of birds. There is no need to harm birds to get their feathers. Birds naturally molt their feathers to replace old or damaged ones. This can limit my inventory supply, but I prefer to wait than to harm birds. I own a Yellow-naped Amazon Parrot and love birds. I would never harm them or profit from someone else harming them.
2. Collected feathers are professionally cleaned and disinfected.
3. Since feathers are one-of-a-kind, there will be slight variations in color, size, and shape. However, Arte Designs feather earrings are matched up as close as possible. I spend hours sorting through feathers, discarding the bad ones and matching up the beautiful fluffy ones.
4. Closely matched feathers are tied together by hand and glued for durability. Feather quills can bend or break, so skipping this step can cause the feathers to fall out.
5. All feather earrings are hand wrapped with tarnish resistant silver or gold wire for a finished look (no crossed wires). No unsightly crimp beads or flying tying are used.
